Prime Big Deal Days and Target Circle Deal Days ended Oct. 7. Newegg’s announced FantasTech Sale II window continues through Oct. 11; direct-store offers have separate terms. Buy only when the exact PC or upgrade fits your work and its complete cost beats an obtainable alternative. Keep a working setup for $0. A Prime badge does not settle memory capacity, Linux support, the third-party seller or delivery.
Start with the job and the computer you already have. If it already handles the work, keep it for $0. If one missing part is the constraint, price an upgrade before a replacement. Otherwise, shortlist only machines that meet the required memory, graphics, ports and software needs; compare the real tradeoffs and seller terms, then buy or wait according to your deadline. A price feed helps at the comparison step, but cannot decide the workload or resolve an untested capability for you.
Amazon announced Prime Big Deal Days for Oct. 6-7, from 12:01 a.m. Pacific time on Oct. 6, for Prime members; that window has ended. Newegg’s FantasTech Sale II and Target Circle Deal Days are separate competing-retailer events, with their own eligibility and terms. Newegg says FantasTech Sale II runs Oct. 5-11. Its early-purchase window ended Oct. 4. Price protection applies only to an eligible earlier purchase from Sept. 28 through Oct. 4 bearing the FantasTech Price Protection badge; read the terms on the exact listing before relying on it. Newegg’s FAQ says sold and shipped by Newegg, while the footnote mentions Marketplace items. Because those statements conflict, we would not count on protection for a Marketplace order without confirmation from Newegg. Target announced Circle Deal Days for Oct. 6-7 for free Circle members, with select early offers for paid Circle 360 members on Oct. 5. Those announced event windows have ended; do not carry a Circle event price into a current order without checking it. It names select laptop brands but no exact configuration on this page. None of these event announcements establishes an exact Mac, GPU or mini PC discount.
Is the Prime deal cheaper after membership, shipping and extras?
The hardware sale cost calculator adds the selected price, tax, shipping, required parts and any added membership cost. Start with memory, storage, a GPU, a whole PC, a portable screen or a Linux laptop. Compare the exact option with keeping what works for $0, then check whether it fits the machine and the job.
An empty enclosure still needs an SSD. A graphics card may need a PSU. A low laptop price cannot settle its camera, radio or suspend behavior. Those costs and limits belong beside the price, before you buy.
Buy, upgrade or keep: start with the job
| What you need | First comparison | What can disqualify the apparent bargain |
|---|---|---|
| A used Mac mini or Studio | The daily asking-price tracker and the used-Mac buying checklist | An old ask is not a sale; memory, storage, condition, warranty and return rights differ. |
| A new Mac mini | New Mac mini configurations and sources against the exact part number and a new retailer offer | A used M4 and a new M6 are not the same configuration or warranty. An education price matters only if you qualify. |
| A machine for local AI | The existing machine-by-machine price checks and what your present computer can run | Fixed memory, 8GB versus 16GB GPU versions, CUDA needs and delivery delays can outweigh a discount. |
| A GPU | New and used GPU capacity guide | Check VRAM, exact board, condition, power and return policy. A 5060 Ti 8GB is not the 16GB card. |
| More memory or storage in a computer you own | RAM upgrade routes and internal versus external Mac storage | Confirm the board’s DDR generation, kit support and usable slots, or the machine’s storage and backup path. A part can cost more than a suitable whole system; the older guide prices are dated baselines, not sale offers. |
| A screen or desk accessory | Prime portable-monitor checks: one cable, charging and total cost, connection and size guide and Mac mini desk setup | A screen you own may cost $0. Connector, power, stand, sleeve and total setup cost can erase a low sticker price. |
A dated new-Mac alternative to recheck
On Oct. 11, Micro Center displays $779.99 for the new Mac mini M6, 16GB/256GB, part MHQK4LL/A. The Oct. 3 $699.99 ask is historical. The current listing is in-store pickup only and limited to one per household; stock at your selected store, any membership reduction and checkout remain unverified. It lists a one-year limited parts/labor warranty and a 15-day computer return window from purchase, requiring new condition, original carton/UPC and all packaging/accessories/materials.
That price is a serious comparison for a buyer considering a used Mac mini around the same spend. The tracker groups used offers by model, but its median mixes configurations. Compare the exact used machine’s chip, memory, storage, condition, shipping, tax, warranty and return rights with the new M6 you can actually collect. If the new machine is unavailable near you, its $779.99 tag is context, not an obtainable alternative. Check the Micro Center page again before relying on the figure.
Check the offer you can buy
- Match the configuration. Check the manufacturer part number where available, then chip, memory, storage and GPU memory in both the title and specifications. Reject a comparison that substitutes an 8GB card for 16GB or a 64GB mini PC for 128GB.
- Recheck price and stock. Record the read time, store and exact listing URL. A dated comparison is history once the listing changes or goes out of stock. The Hard Bargains tracker measures asking prices, not completed sales.
- Calculate the delivered cost. Add shipping, membership cost if you would join only for the deal and any nonrefundable fees. Keep taxes visible, and compare the same location and tax treatment.
- Read who stands behind it. “Sold by” and “ships from” can name different parties. Confirm new, used, refurbished or open-box condition; warranty provider; return window; restocking fees; and whether the seller’s terms differ from the marketplace’s headline policy.
- Check the use case. A cheaper box can still be wrong for local AI memory or CUDA work. If your present machine already runs the intended model, the price to beat may be $0.
The Prime local AI comparison puts model, context and CUDA requirements before the latest exact-configuration alternative asks. Amazon price, seller, stock and Prime eligibility must be checked on the exact offer before calling it a deal. The price tracker supplies newer used asks with its own observation date. Commercial relationships are described on About; this page’s retailer links carry no affiliate tracking.
