Hard Bargains is a public website. You can read it without creating an account, giving us your name or providing an email address.

Site measurement

We use Google Analytics to understand aggregate use of the site, including page views, sessions, approximate location, device and referral information. Google may set or read identifiers as part of that service. We use these reports to understand which pages readers reach and whether the publication is working; we do not use them to claim that a visit produced a purchase.

Cloudflare serves the site and may process ordinary network and security data needed to deliver it and protect it from abuse. Links to retailers and other sites are governed by those sites’ own privacy practices after you leave Hard Bargains.

Information you send us

If you email hello@hard.bargains, we receive the address, message and any attachments you choose to send. We use that material to answer the message, investigate a correction or pursue a tip. Do not send sensitive personal or financial information.

Commercial links

Amazon Associates links are active on the site. Our commercial relationships page names the relationship, and qualifying links carry sponsored link markup. An affiliate network or retailer may use its own attribution technology after a reader follows such a link.
